I had the same problem with macfuse and this solved my problem too (reboot required): sudo kextutil /Library/Filesystems/macfuse.fs/Contents/Extensions/11/macfuse.kext Then I was asked to reboot, after the reboot it started to work again. What fixed it for me was: sudo kextutil /Library/Filesystems/osxfuse.fs/Contents/Extensions/10.16/osxfuse.kext
